Committees

The following is a list of currently or recently active committees. Members interested in serving on any committees should contact the President or committee Chairperson.

Bar supplies –

This standing committee is responsible for maintaining an inventory of soft drinks, beer, wine, liquor, ice, and related supplies; purchasing supplies as needed and saving receipts for reimbursement from the Treasury; preparing beverages for consumption during the meetings; collecting donations for beverages and turning funds over to the Financial Secretary.

Battle Monument School Valentine's Party –

Every year since 1999 this committee has gathered donations and volunteers to sponsor a Valentine's Party for the students at Battle Monument School. The Battle Monument students have special needs, which makes this a special project for all involved. The committee's efforts provide entertainment, refreshments, decorations and chaperones for the children.

Bylaws –

This standing committee is responsible for managing the processing of proposed amendments to the club by-laws.

Elections (internal) –

This committee is responsible for overseeing club elections in accordance with the clubs’ by-laws. The committee is appointed each year and serves through the Club election cycle.

Endorsements –

This committee is responsible for overseeing endorsements of candidates for the Primary elections in accordance with the clubs’ by-laws. The committee is appointed each election year for the duration of the endorsement process.

This committee is a composite of several subcommittees responsible for our fundraising efforts.

Newsletter Ads

Guest Speakers –

This standing committee is responsible for scheduling all guest speakers.

Kitchen Supplies –

This standing committee maintains the club's inventory of kitchen supplies such as cups, spoons, napkins, plates, sugar, creamer and coffee.

Newsletter –

This standing committee is responsible for producing a monthly newsletter. The committee also sells advertising to defray the cost of producing the newsletter. The committee is responsible for delivering the newsletter to members, local media, and advertisers.

Editor - Jay Hidden

Planning –

This standing committee is responsible for preparing and coordinating an annual schedule of projects and activities. The committee solicits ideas for projects from the members and assists in scheduling and planning new projects. The committee maintains records of previous projects as a reference library.

Publicity –

This standing committee is responsible for preparing and distributing all publicity materials and press releases.

Set-up –

This standing committee is responsible for setting up, and taking down, the tables and chairs at all general membership meetings.

Socials –

This standing committee is responsible for scheduling and managing all club social events. The committee includes sub-committees for each event.

Sunshine –

This standing committee is responsible for sending cards and flowers to members in distress from injury or illness, or to the families of deceased members.
